Fountain pens are special, and once filled, they are difficult to resell upon return. When purchasing a fountain pen, it is recommended that you test it by dipping the nib in ink. If you use the supplied cartridges or fill it with ink, we must send the pen to the manufacturer's repair facility to resell it. We want to ensure all our customers receive a brand-new, unused pen. Therefore, we charge a nominal 20% restocking fee to cover repair and shipping costs to the manufacturer's repair center. These pens are then resold in our outlet store. Please note that the restocking fee applies only to fountain pens that have been filled with ink. If you have any questions, please contact us.

The Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Blue and Silver Rollerball Pen is a magnificent modern revival of what is widely celebrated as the most iconic pen of its generation, right alongside the historic Parker 51. Originally debuting just before World War II, the Skyline features a radical, streamlined design that serves as a renowned hallmark of legendary industrial designer Henry Dreyfuss. The pen's unique silhouette shows powerful visual influences from the Dreyfuss-designed New York Central 20th Century Limited streamline locomotive, giving it an undeniable sense of retro-futuristic elegance and motion.

This timeless aesthetic proved to be an astronomical success for Eversharp, capturing the imagination of the public and eventually climbing the ranks to become the best-selling pen in the United States by 1945. Because it is immediately recognizable globally as a quintessential example of "mid-century modern" design, the Skyline was proudly chosen in 2012 to serve as the very first pen manufactured to launch the revived Wahl-Eversharp Company.

Today’s modern Skyline rollerball remains meticulously faithful to the original 1939 Dreyfuss exterior design. However, beneath its sleek blue skin lies a thoroughly modernized writing instrument. By utilizing the finest contemporary materials, modern production techniques, and advanced systems, this edition offers a robust everyday carry experience that is highly dependable and even more affordable for the everyday writer than the original model was upon its release in 1939. Outfitted as a capped rollerball, it delivers a rich, liquid-ink line that glides across paper with zero resistance.

✨ Signature Features

  • Henry Dreyfuss Streamlined Silhouette: Showcases the radical, aerodynamic teardrop profile that solidified the Skyline's reputation as a mid-century modern design masterpiece.

  • Locomotive-Inspired Geometry: Features a striking cap contour heavily influenced by the iconic New York Central 20th Century Limited streamline locomotive.

  • Classic Blue & Silver Styling: Crafted in a striking, rich blue finish elegantly contrasted by a polished silver-tone pocket clip and coordinating trim accents.

  • Historical Milestone Revival: Proudly stands as the exact flagship model selected in 2012 to mark the historic return of the revived Wahl-Eversharp Company.

  • Modern Materials & Production: Combines vintage 1939 aesthetics with cutting-edge manufacturing techniques and the best of modern materials, rendering the pen highly durable and remarkably affordable.

  • Effortless Rollerball Performance: Merges the wet, expressive line quality of a classic fountain pen with the immediate, low-maintenance deployment of a premium rollerball.

Why Choose the Skyline Blue & Silver Rollerball?

The Wahl-Eversharp Skyline Rollerball offers fine writing enthusiasts the rare opportunity to wield a genuine industrial legend without dealing with the fragile mechanisms or constant maintenance of a vintage estate pen. The pairing of a rich blue body with radiant silver trim creates an incredibly clean, professional look that feels entirely at home in the modern office or an architect's studio. It is a stunning, functional piece of American design history that is engineered to take a beating and keep writing flawlessly.

The original Skyline was such a runaway cultural juggernaut that by 1945, it completely dominated the American stationery landscape as the number one best-selling pen in the country. When you write with today's Skyline, your hand is resting on the exact proportions that defined mid-century modernism. Henry Dreyfuss deliberately designed the unique over-the-top pocket clip to wrap around the crown of the cap, ensuring that the pen sat completely low, flush, and secure against a gentleman's shirt pocket—a brilliant touch of utility that remains as satisfying today as it was when it first hit the shelves.
