The David Oscarson America The Beautiful Fountain Pen in Onyx is a striking, monochromatic tribute to the United States, released to commemorate the country's 250th Anniversary (Semiquincentennial). Part of the 42nd limited edition collection, this piece utilizes David Oscarson's hallmark technical mastery to create a "hand-held monument" to American history.
Design and Artistry
The pen is constructed from solid .925 Sterling Silver, featuring high-relief engravings that celebrate the American spirit. The Onyx signature feature is achieved through the use of opaque black kiln-fired hot enamel. Unlike the translucent colors in the series, the Onyx provides a deep, solid background that makes the polished silver details of the American Bald Eagle, the Star-Spangled Banner, and the Constitution scroll clip ("We the People") stand out with dramatic contrast.
The barrel of the pen depicts a panoramic view of the American landscape, with the silver trim highlighting the intricate "amber waves of grain" and mountain majesties.

Why Choose David Oscarson Pen?
The Onyx version is the most sophisticated and understated entry in the collection. While other colors are vibrant, the Onyx and Silver combination offers a timeless, professional aesthetic. Because it uses vitreous enamel (glass fused to metal at 1,450°F), the finish is nearly indestructible—it will not scratch or fade, preserving the "spirit of the inventor" for generations.
"The Onyx edition is for the collector who loves contrast. While the translucent colors show off the guilloché underneath, the opaque Onyx creates a bold, structural look that really makes the Sterling Silver carvings pop. It feels incredibly dense and high-quality. With only 76 pieces worldwide, it’s a rare opportunity to own a piece of the 2026 celebration in a colorway that never goes out of style."
